Housing Policy on Room Pricing for Students with Disabilities

Lafayette recognizes that some students are approved for housing accommodations through Accessibility Services. Approved accommodations that can be met through assignment to a Room Rate 1 building will be assigned to a Room Rate 1 building. Students whose approved accommodations can be accommodated through assignment to a Room Rate 1 building, but request or choose to live in a Room Rate 2 or Room Rate 3 building will be charged according to the Room Rate they select.

Students whose approved housing accommodations can not be met through assignment to a Room Rate 1 building will be assigned a building in the next highest Room Rate that meets the approved housing accommodations, but will only be charged Room Rate 1. For example, if a student’s approved housing accommodations can not be met in a Room Rate 1 building, the student will be assigned to a Room Rate 2 building that meets the accommodations. However, the student will be charged the rate for a Room Rate 1 building.
