Lafayette College's Housing Policy on Room Pricing for Students with Disabilities
Lafayette recognizes that some students may require a specific housing arrangement as a reasonable accommodation for a documented disability. Students whose disabilities can be accommodated through assignment to a Tier 1 building will be assigned to a Tier 1 building. Students whose disabilities can be accommodated through assignment to a Tier 1 building, but request or choose to live in a higher Tier building will be charged according to the Tier they select.
Students whose disabilities cannot be accommodated through assignment to a Tier 1 building will be assigned a building in the next highest tier that can accommodate the student’s disabilities, but will only be charged a Tier 1 rate. For example, if a student’s disability cannot be accommodated in a Tier 1 building, the student will be assigned to a Tier 2 building that can accommodate the disability. The student will be charged the rate for a Tier 1 building.
Information regarding building Tiers and associated charges can be found on the Student Fees & Payments website under Housing Options.
